The Association of Financial Analysts - Bankers in Romania (AAFBR) has a new Board of Directors
The Association of Financial Analysts and Bankers in Romania (AAFBR) has elected a new Board of Directors for a two-year term, until the end of 2026.
By a vote of the association’s members, Flavius Jakubowicz has been appointed President of AAFBR for a two-year term, taking over from Daniela Ropotă, who held the position of President for the last four years. Six other colleagues were also elected to the AAFBR Board of Directors, in the position of Vice Presidents: Aurel Bernat, Mihai Căruntu, Irina Chițu, Daniela Ropotă, Răzvan Rusu and Oana Stoenescu.
“I am honored to take the mandate as President of the Association of Financial Analysts and Bankers of Romania (AAFBR) and I thank the members for their trust and support. I take on this responsibility with the determination to strengthen the role of the association in supporting professional excellence and providing objective and professional analysis to the business environment, authorities and society. Our priorities remain the continued development of the financial market, the promotion of economic education and the strengthening of confidence in financial analysis as a pillar of strategic decision-making”, said the new President, Flavius Jakubowicz.
AAFBR brings together over 100 professionals with various specializations in the economic-financial field and aims to support financial education, innovation and excellence in the financial sector, so that the professional association can contribute more and more significantly to the development of this sector in Romania.
Among the most important objectives of the new Board of Directors of AAFBR in the 2024-2026 mandate, the following can be listed:

• Expanding and diversifying the membership database? by attracting professionals from multiple areas of expertise, such as insurance, financial investment companies and capital markets, so as to ensure a broader multidisciplinary representation;
• Promote professional excellence through large-scale events, thematic workshops and the editing of reference publications (such as the AAFBR Newsletter) that provide authentic insights regarding the evolutions in the economy, particularly within the financial-banking sector;
• Increasing educational and social impact through mentoring programs, financial education sessions, academic partnerships and social responsibility initiatives, dedicated to both industry professionals and the general public.
