Thanks to the efforts of our European member associations and value-added partners across the world the CESGA and ESG Essentials programmes can officially count towards your professional development. See the examples below:
Our Swiss member, SFAA, worked to have EFFAS´ ESG certifications accredited for the Swiss Association of Quality (SAQ) re-certification. This means that upon completion of the CESGA fundamentals/ESG Essentials (Modules 1 to 5 of the CESGA Programme), the successful candidate can apply to the SAQ for a new certificate valid for 3 years. This allows the SAQ certification holders to demonstrate their current professional expertise and boost their clients’ confidence in them as an advisory specialist with ESG knowledge.
Our French member society SFAF´s training school in Paris offers courses for financial professionals under the Qualiopi quality certification. French employees can spend personal training account credits paid by their employer to enable them to follow their chosen training programme. The EFFAS CESGA and ESG Essentials programmes, both available at SFAF’s school, are eligible for the scheme.
Friends of the Earth Hong Kong, our official Asia- Pacific Partner saw its efforts promoting the Certified ESG Analyst programme (CESGA) rewarded with its inclusion on the Green Sustainable Finance Repository list which contains information of international and local training on green and sustainable related subjects. The list was identified and compiled by the GSF Centre’s Capacity Building Working Group based on industry practice. Since 12 December 2022 when the Certified ESG Analyst (CESGA) was approved under the Pilot Green and Sustainable Finance Capacity Building Support Scheme in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region we have been providing training under this scheme. It supports talent development in Green and Sustainable Finance (GSF) through subsidies to market practitioners and prospective practitioners with relevant training for professional qualifications. More information available here.
The CESGA programme was recently listed among the certificate and training programmes for sustainable finance compiled by the supervisory authority in Japan, the Financial Services Agency (FSA). The FSA’s list serves as a valuable reference for institutions and individuals seeking professional capacity building in sustainable finance. EFFAS recognizes that inclusion in this compilation does not imply endorsement by the FSA, nonetheless we believe that the CESGA programme will be recognized by those interested in leveraging the FSA’s list as a comprehensive resource. EFFAS now has more than 4,805 CESGA Holders from financial and other fields. The holders are growing in numbers all over the world, especially in Asia (Hong Kong, Singapore, China, and Japan) and the Americas. Our holders are well established and on the rise in Europe, especially in the territories where the CESGA was first made available: Germany, France, Spain, and Switzerland.
The ESG Essentials programme currently has 1,413 holders in Europe. It has shown significant growth in the last year. The EFFAS ESG Essentials programme provides finance professionals with the fundamental, but essential, ESG concepts to transparently advise ESG stakeholders, which is why leading banks and corporates are training their staff using EFFAS’ ESG Essentials programme.
Our newest certification, Digital Assets and MiCA (DiAM) now has 95 holders in the short time it has been available.
After the summer break EFFAS´ benchmark programme, the Certified European Financial Analyst certification will be the latest addition to the EFFAS Academy. It will work in a similar way to our other online offerings with 100% online self-study materials and an online exam option which will open the CEFA to candidates located outside our member society countries.
