Hans Buysse, Managing Partner at Clairfield and Chair of the Belgian Association of Financial Analysts (ABAF – BVFA), has been appointed the new EFRAG Administrative Board President. The composition of the EFRAG Administrative Board was completed during the EFRAG General Assembly.
Mr. Buysse is an Executive Management Committee (EMC) member of the European Federation of Financial Analysts Societies (EFFAS). He was recently re-elected at the EFFAS Annual General Meeting (AGM) on the 17th of June 2022 held in Porto, Portugal. Buysse is Vice-Chair of XBRL Europe and ACIIA Council member. He has been a member of the Consultative Working Group (CWG) of the Corporate Reporting Standard Committee (CRSC) of ESMA and until now Vice-Chair of EFRAG.
Buysse is a Chairman of Clairfield Belgium, the Belgian Partner Firm of Clairfield International, a worldwide corporate finance firm that provides advisory services, mainly in cross-border mergers and acquisitions, to both international corporations and family-owned enterprises across an array of industries. Hans Buysse has more than 20 years of banking and corporate finance experience and this includes buy-side and sell-side assignments, as well as MBO and IBO, within the energy & utility sector, telecom, real estate and infrastructure as well as having extensive experience in structured finance, financial restructuring, strategic advisory, valuations and PPP.
Mr Buysse’ new position as a President of EFRAG Administrative Board will be effective from the 1st of July for a period of two years. The predecessor of Mr. Buysse is Jean-Paul Gauzès, who has been President of EFRAG, from 1st of July 2016, until the end of June 2022. Mr. Gauzès commented on the new EFRAG Board composition:

Georg Lanfermann, Vice-President of EFRAG (effective 15 February) and Marilyn Waite a member representing the Civil Society Organisations Chapter EFRAG, are other new appointments to the new EFRAG Administrative Board.
