EFFAS announces appointment of Dr. Bodo Kesselmeyer as Delegate to XBRL Europe Consultative Committee
08 June 2026 | Frankfurt am Main
The European Federation of Financial Analysts Societies (EFFAS) is pleased to announce that the Executive Management Committee (EMC) has appointed Dr. Bodo Kesselmeyer as the new EFFAS Delegate for the XBRL Europe Consultative Committee, succeeding Manuel Puerta in this role. This appointment marks a renewed and strategic commitment by EFFAS to actively represent the voice of investment professionals in the development of European and international digital reporting standards. Dr. Kesselmeyer was elected to the Consultative Committee of XBRL Europe at its General Assembly last week, further strengthening EFFAS’ engagement in the governance and evolution of digital reporting frameworks.
EFFAS was among the founding members of XBRL Europe, helping to accelerate the development and adoption of XBRL across European capital markets. For a decade, EFFAS’ current Chair, Hans Buysse, held the EFFAS delegate position for XBRL Europe from 2012 to 2021, served as an International Board Member of XBRL from 2014 to 2020, and chaired the Board of Directors from 2019 to 2020. Under his leadership, EFFAS played a central role in shaping the early architecture and governance of digital reporting, embedding a strong, user‑driven perspective from the investment community into the XBRL framework.
EFFAS warmly thanks Manuel Puerta for having carried this mandate during his term. With Dr. Kesselmeyer’s appointment, EFFAS aims to further strengthen its engagement and advocacy for users within XBRL and to build on the foundations laid over the past years.
Dr. Kesselmeyer is widely recognised as an expert and insider in the XBRL ecosystem, with almost two decades of experience in XBRL and digital corporate reporting. He is Founder and CEO of anuboXBRL and Deputy Head of the DVFA Commission on Corporate Analysis, bringing deep technical and practical expertise to the role. His nomination is intended to ensure that investment professionals continue to have a strong, informed, and influential voice in the design of reporting frameworks and infrastructures such as the European Single Access Point (ESAP).
Commenting on his appointment, Dr. Kesselmeyer stated:
“I am honoured to be nominated as EFFAS Delegate for XBRL.
Structured digital reporting, such as XBRL data, is a key foundation for efficient and competitive European capital markets. High-quality, machine-readable corporate data is essential to enable investment professionals to effectively deploy automation and AI, and depends on infrastructures such as the new European Single Access Point (ESAP).
For investment professionals, this is not only a regulatory topic, but a matter of direct relevance for their own organisations. The ability to build efficient, data-driven processes depends on how European reporting frameworks are designed. At the same time, Europe needs ESAP to reduce reliance on costly non-European data providers.
It is therefore essential that investment professionals actively contribute their perspective to European regulation. I look forward to supporting this process to help ensure that Europe’s digital reporting frameworks deliver practical value for the investment community.”
Through this appointment, EFFAS reinforces its ambition to be an active and constructive partner in the evolution of digital corporate reporting in Europe and globally, bringing the perspectives of analysts, asset managers, and other users into the heart of regulatory and technical discussions. EFFAS will continue to engage closely with XBRL International, European authorities, and market stakeholders to promote high‑quality, accessible, and efficient data for the investment community.
