During its first pilot year in Spain and Germany the EFFAS ESG Essentials has already surpassed 1,000 title holders. At this point we want to thank our Spanish and German Societies IEAF and DVFA, as well as their corporate clients for trusting in the EFFAS brand and our high-quality certifications to provide structured training on ESG to their members and employees.
In the current landscape, ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) aspects have been increasingly incorporated into investment and financing decision-making processes. Since 10 March 2021, according to Regulation (EU) 2019/2088 (SFDR), participants in financial markets and financial advisers must report on the integration of sustainability risks and the analysis of adverse incidences regarding sustainability in their processes and information on sustainability regarding financial products.
Thus, for adequate advice and transparency in the matter, it is essential that participants in financial markets such as advisors and information providers have a basic knowledge of ESG. The ESG Essentials is an alternative for professionals in the sector who need to demonstrate that they have the required level of qualification.
The ESG Essentials programme is designed to provide a thorough understanding of the latest trends in ESG financing. At the end of the programme the student will have a knowledge and understanding of sustainability trends and their importance for companies; what sustainable finance is; the current regulatory context; the main actors in sustainable finance; how ESG matters are integrated into the different asset classes; what ESG financing instruments exist; how to recognize ESG products, their characteristics and how to explain and advise a client in this type of investment; investment strategies with ESG criteria, and; how ESG information is integrated into investment processes.
