1 November 2021
The European Federation of Financial Analyst Associations, EFFAS, has reached a collaboration agreement with the Basel Business Club, an association of young professionals with high potential.
EFFAS has reached a cooperation agreement with the Basel Business Club, which brings together more than 100 members from 22 countries.
Jesús López Zaballos, president of EFFAS, explains that “we are enormously satisfied with this agreement, which fulfils our founding purposes. We want to bring our experience in the field of training and professional certifications to the young people who will be our leaders in the future to contribute to their professional development based on ethical principles”.
For his part, Thomas Van Rompaey, president of the Basel Business Club, affirms that “being myself a holder of the title of Certified ESG Analyst (CESGA) from EFFAS, I am very happy to participate in this association that will allow the leading entrepreneurs of the future to have a deep understanding of the different ESG components and global megatrends, such as the ongoing digital transition; energy and ecological transitions; and demographic changes ”.
The association agreement between EFFAS and the Basel Business Club will pay special attention to the training and certification of these young professionals with high potential in matters related to sustainability and ESG (environmental, social and governance), at a time when they are all increasingly important in the business, economic and financial sphere.
EFFAS is a non-profit organization that brings together 15 European national associations with more than 20,000 members, all of whom are investment, asset management and financial analysis professionals. In 2014 EFFAS launched the CESGA (Certified ESG Analyst) title to accredit professionals in the sector in socially responsible investment, which not only considers profitability, but also social and environmental impact and good corporate governance practices.
CESGA has been the pioneer title in the world in the field of ESG and is currently an international leader in terms of the number of accredited professionals, which now exceed 2,300 in more than 50 countries. The next certification exam will take place on 3 December 2021 and to date more than 400 candidates have registered for the exam. By the end of 2021, the number of CESGA graduates will exceed 2,500.
The programme is available completely in online format, both the training for its preparation, and the exam. In this way, it is accessible to candidates from all over the world who are interested in improving their professional opportunities with the ESG Analyst Certification (CESGA).
The CESGA title has become in seven years the international benchmark in the field of ESG due to its prestige, the depth of its contents and its practical approach. Leading companies around the world are certifying their ESG professionals with this EFFAS accreditation. Some of them are: Alandsbanken, Amundi, Andbank, Banco Cooperativo Español, BBVA Asset Management, BNP Paribas, Caixabank, Caja Rural, CD Croissance, Danske Bank, Deutsche Bank, Dorval AM, Dunas Capital, DWS Investment, Evangelische Bank, Edmond de Rotschild AM, Gescooperativo, Ibercaja, La Banque Postale AM, Lyxor, Mapfre, Metzler Asset Management, MEAG Munich Ergo Asset Management, Mutua dels Enginyers, ODDO BHF, Renta 4 Banco, Santander Asset Management, Scope SE & Co, Societe Generale, Tressis Gestión, Vallbanc, Welzia Management SGIIC or Züricher Kantonalbank.
