Everyone at EFFAS was deeply saddened to hear of the recent passing of our valued colleague and friend, Andrea Gasperini.
Chartered Accountant and Auditor in Milan, Italy. Since 1993 Andrea was Head of Sustainability and the ESG Observatory at the Associazione Italiana per l’Analisi Finanziaria (AIAF). Andrea was a pioneer and leader in ESG matters and played a key role in the Italian society.
Andrea generously shared his expertise with EFFAS as a member of our Expert Academic Team and the ESG Review Panel contributing to the development of our ESG Certification Programmes. He was also a proactive and helpful member of the EFFAS Commission on ESG (CESG) issues. Andrea also promoted his beliefs on the environment as a member of the European Lab@EFRAG Project Task Force on Climate-related Reporting of EFRAG.
His professional commitments were all matters related to Sustainable Finance, particularly the non-financial risks and opportunities connected to the transition to a low carbon economy resilient to climate change in line with the recommendations of the FSB Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosure (TCFD), the European non-financial directive (NFRD) adopted in Italy D.Lgs. 254/2016, the Regulation SFDR (2019/2088) and EU Taxonomy (2020/852) and lastly the new proposal directive CSRD.
He was an author and co-author of many books and essays, published in several management and economic journals about sustainable finance and intangible assets and was a keynote speaker on university masters’ courses and at conferences at both a national and international level.
The void he leaves will be impossible to fill. We fully appreciate Andrea’s inspiring leadership and pursuit of excellence which have contributed to EFFAS´ training programmes and its standing Commission on ESG. His deep commitment, devotion, and willingness to always help when needed will be greatly missed by the EFFAS team.
We send our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and all our colleagues at AIAF.
