The training centreof the Fundación de Estudios Financieros, Escuela FEF, and Banco Cooperativo Español have signed an agreement whereby the professionals of this banking entity, its investment fund manager and the Caja Rural Group, who provide financial advice, will participate in the EFFAS certified ESG Essentials course, aimed at training and certifying these professionals in ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) matters.
The course will accredit participants in the basic issues that they must master to advise their clients on sustainable finance: the social and environmental impact, and good governance practices of financial investments and products. ESG aspects have been increasingly incorporated into investment and financing decision-making processes, mainly due to improved risk-adjusted investment performance; and also driven by European regulation, which aims to encourage investment in activities that allow the transition to a lower carbon economyand meet the objectives of economic recovery and sustainable development of the European Union. In this sense, according to Regulation (EU) 2019/2088, as of March 2021, participants in financial markets and financial advisors must report on the integration of sustainability risks and the analysis of incidents. adverse in terms of sustainability in their processes and information on sustainability regarding financial products.
