EFFAS, Headline Partner of the APA Awards 2026
The European Federation of Financial Analysts Societies (EFFAS) participated as a headline partner in the inaugural APA Awards, organised by The Parliament Magazine, recognising the outstanding contribution of Accredited Parliamentary Assistants (APAs) to the work of the European Parliament.
Held at the Cercle Gaulois in Brussels, the APA Awards honour one APA per EU Member State, celebrating the professionalism, expertise, and dedication of those who work behind the scenes to support Europe’s legislative and policymaking processes.
As part of the opening remarks, Hans Buysse, Chair of EFFAS, highlighted the essential role of people and institutions in sustaining trust, stability, and long-term decision-making in Europe.
“Strong frameworks depend on strong institutions, and institutions ultimately depend on people. At a time when Europe faces growing economic, geopolitical, and sustainability challenges, professionalism, predictability, and continuity are strategic assets,”
Institutions, stability, and long-term value
In his remarks, Hans Buysse underlined that Europe’s competitiveness and resilience rely not only on sound regulation, but on effective implementation and institutional quality. Regulatory systems, he noted, mature through application and informed adjustment.
This message resonates beyond capital markets. In policymaking, as in finance, clarity, coherence, and reliability are essential for informed decisions and long-term value creation. Accredited Parliamentary Assistants play a critical role in ensuring that legislation is prepared, coordinated, and implemented with the necessary rigour and continuity.
Recognising the people behind EU policymaking
The APA Awards shine a light on a professional community that is central to the functioning of European democracy, yet rarely visible. By recognising excellence across all Member States, the awards reflect the pan-European character of the Union and the shared standards that underpin its institutions.
EFFAS’ participation in the APA Awards goes along with its broader commitment to good governance, institutional trust, and decision-useful information, principles that are equally vital in public policy and financial markets.
