EFFAS Welcomes Henning Eßkuchen to the Capital Markets Commission
EFFAS is pleased to announce the appointment of Henning Eßkuchen as a new member of the Capital Markets Commission (CMC). His extensive experience in financial research, investment banking, and market strategy will further strengthen the Commission’s work.
As the Head of CEE Equity Research at Erste Group and equity strategist for emerging Europe, Henning brings a wealth of knowledge in equity and debt markets. Since beginning his career in 1996, he has accumulated substantial expertise in regional equity markets, overseeing research activities across Austria, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Hungary, Poland, Romania, and Serbia. His experience also includes exposure to Turkey and Ukraine, further enhancing his deep understanding of market dynamics in the region.
Henning joined the Erste Group in 1998, and he was part of Erste’s expansion process into the European emerging markets and was instrumental in setting up research activities across the region including a supervisory board function in local entities. He holds a master’s degree in business administration and economics from Ruhr-Universität Bochum, Germany, and is a member of Austrian Association for Financial Analysis and Asset Management (ÖVFA). Additionally, he serves on the arbitration board of EFFAS.
Henning expressed his enthusiasm for joining the Capital Markets Commission, stating: “Having found my professional home in the markets of the last EU enlargement, I have been able to experience first-hand how important functioning capital markets can be for the development of an economy’s prosperity. Thank you for inviting me to be part of the CMC, and I look forward to contributing”.
