Congratulations to the Wiener Börse AG in their anniversary year. Fritz Mostböck, in his capacity as President of the Österreichische Vereinigung für Finanzanalyse und Asset Management (ÖVFA), attended a top-class lunch at the Vienna Stock Exchange headquarters in the Palais Caprara-Geymüller on 2 September 2021. The event was in celebration of the 250th Anniversary of the Vienna Stock Exchange’s first day of trading on 2 September 1771. Empress Maria Theresia had initiated the establishment of the National Exchange ten years earlier in 1761. A quarter of a millennium later, on September 2, 2021, Ferdinand Habsburg-Lothringen, a racing driver and descendant of Maria Theresa, ceremoniously opened the trading day with the stock exchange bell.
