The European Federation of Financial Analysts Societies (EFFAS) welcomed the new Chair of the Arbitration Board, Mr. Michel Berger (SFAF). The Arbitration Board is formed by Mr. Henning Esskuchen (ÖVFA), Stefano Volante (AIAF) and Mr. Berger whose nominations were approved at the EMC meeting on the 12 May 2022 in Vienna and then ratified at the EFFAS Annual General Meeting on the 17 June in Porto 2022.
Mr. Berger is taking over as the Chair of the Arbitration Board. The previous chair, Mr. Ángel Borrego Rodríguez (IEAF), completed his mandate in June 2022. The EFFAS EMC would like to thank Mr. Borrego for all his contributions to the Arbitration Board and Mr Esskuchen and Mr Volante for continuing in their roles.
The members of the Arbitration Board have chosen Mr Berger to be the new Chair of the Board, starting from 15 August 2022. This decision was finally approved at the Executive Management Committee meeting held on 14 September.
Mr Berger is an independent expert, with legal skills, in multiple fields of finance and banking. He has wide ranging experience in public Courts as a Courts Expert and with Arbitration Tribunals as an Expert Witness (ICSID, ICC, SCAI) in damages & finance and as an Arbitrator. Mr Berger is a member of the professional ethics and of the methods of valuation Committees in the SFAF, where he has been a member since 1986.
